Sort Sol were a Danish post-punk combo who had already issued a European album via Polygram.

'Marble Station' and its flipside 'Misguided' were Ivo's two favorite tracks from the album, which he asked to put out as a single. This was a one-off release. The record's most enduring contribution to 4AD's history can be found on its sleeve, which features the first work for the label by photographer Nigel Grierson, who was soon to team up with designer Vaughan Oliver under the name 23 Envelope.
