Efterklang - Efterklang Premiere New Album At Sydney Opera House, Autumn Tour On Sale Now
Efterklang : Efterklang Premiere New Album At Sydney Opera House, Autumn Tour On Sale Now
6th June 2012

On Saturday 26th May, Denmark's experimental alt-pop pioneers Efterklang made their Australian live debut at the Sydney Opera House. Playing alongside the Sydney Symphony, and featuring the legendary Budgie (Siouxsie and The Banshees, The Creatures) on drums, Efterklang premiered forthcoming album, Piramida, in its entirety...

"Music of unearthly beauty." - The Sydney Morning Herald
"Efterklang's new material unfolded in perfect harmony with the orchestra. Standing ovations out of the way, the audience - and the band - left the theatre aglow." - Time Out Sydney
"It's a show that prompts goosebumps as well as laughter - a night that truly celebrates the transformative power of good music." - The Vine

The Danes worked closely with classical arrangers to fully utilise the orchestra, delivering a performance that was more of an interpretation than a faithful recital of the studio record, scheduled for release in September.

The stunning performance was captured by festival organisers, Vivid Live, and exclusive footage of new Piramida track, 'The Ghost' can be viewed below...

Efterklang have also confirmed Budgie will be joining the band as drummer for their forthcoming Autumn tour dates where the band will play Piramida with full orchestras. British, Danish and Irish dates have been announced and more will be added soon.
