Various : 'Day of the Dead' Documentary, Unique Test Pressings Auctioned
25th July 2016

Spotify travelled to upstate New York for a revealing behind-the-scenes look at the making of Day of the Dead, a celebration of the Grateful Dead’s music benefitting the Red Hot Organization’s fight against AIDS/HIV and related health issues around the world.  The documentary features The National’s Aaron Dessner and Scott Devendorf, as well as other players who contributed to the compilation.  Day of the Dead was released in May to critical praise and features 60 artists, 59 tracks, and is almost 6 hours long.  Watch the documentary here or in the player below.

In an effort to further the cause, the Red Hot Organization and 4AD are auctioning off 4AD's 10 x LP vinyl test pressing copy of the record which were listened to by Scott Devendorf at 4AD’s office in NY to approve vinyl pressing, otherwise they are un-played.  Be the first and only person to own the epic 59-track album on vinyl, ahead of its release on September 9th 2016.  The auction will be live for 10 days and is the only chance to own this unique piece of music memorabilia: http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/162147827594
