Methyl Ethel - New Track 'L'Heure des Sorcières'
Methyl Ethel : New Track 'L'Heure des Sorcières'
22nd February 2017

Jake Webb’s Methyl Ethel have released a new song, ‘L’Heure des Sorcières’, from their forthcoming album, Everything Is Forgotten, due for release on 3rd March.  French for ‘The Witches’ Hour’, the track takes a darker tone from its predecessors ‘Ubu’ and ‘No. 28’.  Hear the single in full here (on the streaming platform of your choice) or in the player below.

Methyl Ethel’s second album Everything Is Forgotten is a vivid, compelling and mysterious creature, all sinewy, curvaceous pop nuggets and enigmatic currents.  Written and recorded by Perth-based frontman Jake Webb, it was brought to life by acclaimed British producer James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Foals).  The pair’s collaboration has infused Methyl Ethel’s shoegaze dream-pop palate with electronic and polyrhythmic flourishes, allowing Webb’s keening, gender-fluid vocals and searing poetry to take centre stage.

Everything Is Forgotten, released 3rd March, is available to pre-order now.

The Australian outfit have also been confirmed as main support for Pond on their upcoming summer UK and European tour.  Webb, joined by bassist Thom Stewart, drummer Chris Wright and Hamish Rahn on keys and guitar, will begin their own headline tour next month.  A full list of dates can be found below.
