Deerhunter - Microcastle Announced For Late-October

14 July 08

We are proud to announce that we will be releasing Microcastle, the excellent new album from Deerhunter, outside North America this October on the 27th ( Kranky will be releasing it in North America on the 28th).

Microcastle is the follow-up to 2006’s Cryptograms and was recorded over the course of a week at Rare Book Studios in Brooklyn, New York with Nicolas Verhes.

It was recorded as a four-piece consisting of Bradford Cox (you may recall his recent solo ventures as Atlas Sound), Lockett Pundt, Joshua Fauver and Moses Archuleta. Most tracks feature Bradford Cox on lead vocals except ‘Agoraphobia’ and ‘Neither of Us, Uncertainly,’ where guitarist Lockett Pundt is the main provider and ‘Saved by Old Times’, which includes a vocal collage by Cole Alexander of The Black Lips.

The first single to be taken off the album will be ‘Nothing Ever Happened’, which will be issued on limited edition 7” vinyl and backed with ‘Little Kids (Demo)’. This will precede the album and we’ll confirm its release date shortly.

You can hear both that single and another album track, ‘Never Stops’, now by visiting the band's MySpace page.
