After a lengthy period away from the northern hemisphere, D.D Dumbo has announced a string of fall North American tour dates. The antipodean polymath has been wowing sold-out venues around his native Australia but returns with a full band to North America in September. Prior to the 11-date run, D.D Dumbo will appear at a handful of European festivals – including UK’s Green Man – and plays a one-off headline show at London’s Omeara on 23rd August.

D.D Dumbo has also shared a version of his song ‘Brother’, which has been remixed by Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa. She says, “I love this song but always thought it was missing a little slap bass. It was an honor to rework ‘Brother’ for the wonderful D.D Dumbo, I hope you enjoy.” Listen to her Steez Remix track below, or stream here.
‘Brother’ is taken from Utopia Defeated, D.D Dumbo’s debut album, which was released late last year. Utopia Defeated is an epic, sprawling opus that sprung from the imagination of Castlemaine’s Oliver Hugh Perry and was written and performed almost entirely by him. Recorded at 4AD’s London Studios, and recorded, engineered and produced by Perry and 4AD’s resident engineer Fabian Prynn, it has garnered numerous accolades from his home country. Utopia Defeated was nominated for the respected Australian Music Prize and named Triple J’s Album of the Year, whilst single ‘Satan’ was awarded Song of the Year at this year’s prestigious Australian APRA Awards (putting him in the company of past winners SIA and Tame Impala).
