SOHN - Out Now: Rennen
SOHN : Out Now: Rennen
13th January 2017

“It’s pop music both bang on target and way too wise for the charts.” - Clash
“Music as stylishly confessional as this has its greatest impact in tempered doses: Rennen’s restraint is also its saviour.” - Loud And Quiet
“Captivating” - Q
“An ideal January album.” - The Sunday Times
“Dramatic and thoughtfully crafted.” - FT
"Brooding has never felt sexier” - Nylon
“Some of SOHN’s most musically adventurous and atmospheric work to date” - Consequence of Sound
“Gorgeous” - Pigeons and Planes

Released worldwide today, Rennen is the new album by SOHN.

For his follow-up to 2014 debut Tremors, London-born SOHN traded Vienna for the warmth of Los Angeles, but the influence of his former home still lingers (Rennen is a German verb meaning ‘to run’).  Resuming a nocturnal schedule – as he did with Tremors – SOHN spent a month writing alone in northern California, recording until the morning.  An exercise in restraint, SOHN used only a handful of musical elements on each track, allowing the spotlight to shine on the vocals, melodies and rhythms.

Rennen is released on LP, CD and digitally today.

On Wednesday night SOHN made his US television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live, performing new single 'Conrad'.  You can watch the footage here, or in the player below.

In September this year, SOHN showcased new music at five sold-out club shows in London, Berlin, Vienna, New York and Los Angeles.  Now with Rennen on its way, he has detailed a European and north American tour for next year, beginning on 13th February in his former home city of Vienna.
