Bing & Ruth - Out Now: Bing & Ruth - No Home of the Mind
Bing & Ruth : Out Now: Bing & Ruth - No Home of the Mind
17th February 2017

Today sees the worldwide release of No Home of the Mind by Bing & Ruth.

Established in 2006, Bing & Ruth is an ever-evolving collective steered by composer David Moore.  A pianist from Kansas and graduate of New York’s school of Jazz and Contemporary Music at the New School, Moore’s work follows in the great tradition of fellow alumni John Cage and Steve Reich, albeit looking past the more studied repetition of the style’s forerunners toward a meditative form built on feeling.

The new record is the first released by Bing & Ruth on 4AD, following City Lake (2010) and Tomorrow Was The Golden Age (2014) - "one of the finest left-field releases of the year" [Pitchfork].  You can read more about No Home of the Mind and how the record was written in The FADER’s recent feature with Moore, where he discussed in depth the 17 pianos around the world that were used to write the album.  The full piece is available to read here.

Earlier this week the ensemble shared the new video for 'The How of it Sped, directed by Sébastien Cros, which you can watch here.  On Monday night Bing & Ruth performed the album in full at WNYC Greene Space, and you can now watch the full show here.

No Home of the Mind is out now on 4AD, available on limited edition clear vinyl, standard black vinyl, CD and all digital platforms.
