Last year, while on tour in support of the 30th Anniversary Original Analog Edition of their landmark album, Last Splash, The Breeders went into the Redwoods to film a live session. The result is “Live in Big Sur,” released today. The stripped-back impromptu session captures the band at their most organic, resulting in a stunning video artfully directed by James Brylowski with illustrations from animator Pedro Eboli. Tracks performed in the session include ‘Divine Hammer’, ‘Do You Love Me Now’, ‘Drivin’ on 9’ and ‘Invisible Man’.

“Last fall at the Henry Miller Library in Big Sur our show was rained out. The sky cleared just as dusk fell & someone said: let’s go into the forest. So in a grove of redwoods we played a few songs for the hermit thrushes and spotted owls. Thank you Mark Satterthwaite & crew for filming it,” the band says.

After a run of shows supporting Olivia Rodrigo at Madison Square Garden back in April, The Breeders are rejoining Rodrigo for six more shows in LA, with two additional dates announced last week. All dates below.
