Today, Future Islands announce Calling Out in Space, their 59-date 2021-2022 World Tour including festival performances at Governor’s Ball and Austin City Limits.
2020 marked the first year in the band’s decade plus history that the road warriors didn’t go on tour. Internationally acclaimed for their incendiary live performances, Stereogum calls them “one of the greatest live bands currently working” while Pitchfork praises the live shows as “propulsive and poignant”, and Uproxx says “they come alive on stage, in a way that no other band really does."
Calling Out in Space returns the Baltimore four-piece to their rightful place on the road in support of their 2020 sixth studio album, As Long As You Are, which NPR called “triumphant [and] inimitable” and Rolling Stone praised for its “more deeply felt New Romantic intensity than ever.”

As Long As You Are looks to the past as well as the future, confronting old ghosts and embracing a new hope. It is an album about trust, full of honesty, redemption and “letting go”, allowing old wounds to heal and bringing painful chapters to a close. These 11 new songs of post wave synth-pop are as euphoric and uninhibitedly joyful as anything the band has done in their 14-year career. The album features acclaimed singles 'Moonlight', 'Thrill', 'For Sure' and 'Born In A War'.
