Today, Tkay Maidza reunites with the director of 2020’s ‘Shook’ promo, Jenna Marsh, for the new video for ‘Syrup’.

The vibrant clip sees an extra-terrestrial Tkay and her merry band of misfits take the night, and perfectly matches the track’s pummelling beat and her sweetly snarling bars.

‘Syrup’ follows the recent release of a celestial cover of Pixies’ ‘Where Is My Mind?’ and her anthemic February single ‘Kim’ (feat. Yung Baby Tate), alongside its instantly-iconic Kims-filled visual, which earned a nod from Pitchfork as #2 Best Video of the Month and praise everywhere including The Guardian, PAPER, FADER and Nylon.  ‘Syrup’ precedes 2020’s EP Last Year Was Weird, Vol. 2, the 8-track release showcasing Maidza’s sonic versatility and earning plaudits from Stereogum, The Observer, PAPER and more.
