Daughter – the London-based trio of Elena Tonra, Igor Haefeli and Remi Aguilella – have launched the final instalment of their film triptych, for the soaring single ‘How’ (taken from their acclaimed second album, Not To Disappear), and details of their biggest UK headline show to date.
Directed by BAFTA-nominated filmmakers Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard (creators of the Nick Cave feature film 20,000 Days On Earth), the video treatment for ‘How’ was inspired by the short story ‘5,040’ – one of three works of fiction written by Stuart Evers and commissioned by Daughter.
Today’s launch of ‘How’ coincides with the arrival of 3 Films, an online portal celebrating the interwoven shorts for `How’, ‘Numbers’ and ‘Doing The Right Thing’ and their respective short stories ‘5,040’, ‘Window’ and ‘Dress’. They can now be viewed in tandem, along with behind-the-scenes stills, as the latest part of 4AD's Foreword series here.
Following on from a hugely successful UK tour in January, ending in a sold-out appearance at the Forum, Daughter have announced they will headline London’s O2 Academy Brixton on October 27th. A limited Songkick pre-sale is now available here, with the general sale on Monday 29th February at 10AM. For further information head to ohdaughter.com/live.
Next month, Elena, Igor and Remi begin a 24-date tour of North America, followed by shows in Australia and Japan. The trio will be playing festivals throughout the summer, including Primavera Sound, Bonnaroo and Way Out West. A full list of tour dates can be found below, or via the band’s site.
